Meet Liz and Mari, two former NCAA D2 basketball players who took their talents across the pond to the UK.
Former NCAA D2 basketball players Liz Moormann and Mari Stewart spent the 2021-22 season as teammates in the UK, enjoying plenty of success on the court together.
Having played over 100 games during her four years with Shepherd University (NCAA D2), Liz continued her impressive collegiate career in the UK where she enjoyed an excellent individual season. The talented forward not only graduated with her master’s degree in Public Health but helped her university team become one of the most successful sides in the country.
West Virginia Wesleyan College (NCAA D2) graduate, Mari, embarked on a professional career before coming to the UK, playing seasons in Kosovo and Australia. The former First Team All-Conference star took advantage of the different eligibility rules in the UK that allow student-athletes to continue their playing careers whilst studying at university and graduated with her master’s degree in Sport Science.
We sat down with the former UK postgrad student-athletes to ask them all about their overseas basketball experience.
