Conference USA golfers, Jay Burlison and Prescott Mann recently arrived in the U.K. this fall to continue their golf careers alongside a postgraduate education.
We are proud to have helped Rice University graduate Jay Burlison and former UTEP miner, Prescott Mann in furthering both their education and sporting careers. Former Junior World Champion Jay is currently attending Durham University as he pursues his masters in Management, while Prescott is living on the South Coast of England, studying Sport Management at Bournemouth University.
Jay’s JourneyBack in 2014, Jay was recruited out of High School to number 1 ranked at the time, UC Berkeley, after earning All-American honors and winning multiple World Championships as a Junior. Unfortunately, a back injury meant that he was unable to compete consistently throughout his college career, but he is now fully recovered and excited to play golf again at one of the world’s leading Universities. “When I first spoke with Play Overseas, I told them it’d be a dream to play golf while pursuing a masters degree. I knew I wanted to find a combination of great academics plus great athletics, just as I had at Rice University. |
Texas to BournemouthAfter a fantastic college career at the University of Texas at El Paso, Prescott is currently living on the south coast of England to study his masters in Sport Management at Bournemouth University. The former UTEP Miner has already got off to a great start in England, winning his first team event by 1 stroke over Northumbria, as Prescott and his teammates all birdied the 54th hole for the win. We cannot wait to follow more of both Jay and Prescott’s success in the season ahead! |
