We recently visited former University of Missouri, St. Louis graduate, DeWan White at Bournemouth University to find out about his experience as an International student and playing overseas.DeWan arrived in the U.K. in September 2018, to study his masters in Sports Management and to continue his basketball career. |

On The CourtDeWan had a fantastic year on the court, leading his team to an undefeated regular season and being crowned the Southern Region Conference Champions. “My plan is to play professionally but as far as education, my masters shows that I can adjust to different environments.” Standout wins against the University of Bristol (122 – 67) and Cardiff University (117 – 62) were part of an incredible run by DeWan and his teammates, who won all 10 games of the regular season. |
Experience of a LifetimeAfter tearing his ACL on his Senior Day, DeWan was rehabbing his knee when we reached out to him and explained our service. By playing another season of basketball in England, DeWan has been able to resurrect his athletic career and further this education at the same time. “This chance will come once in a lifetime. You get to travel, see different things, meet new people, network for job opportunities and it looks great on my resume!” |
